The Weeknd's disembodied head finds and a new body and a taboo type of love in a new promo that's one of this week's best pieces of work, writes Addison Capper
It's Halloween tomorrow and - admittedly for obvious reasons - spooky campaigns have been somewhat thin on the ground this year. Albeit with a music video and not a branded campaign, we think this week's best work goes some way to fill that void.
The film for 'Too Late', directed by Florence duo Cliqua, is a continuation of the storyline from the video for 'In Your Eyes'. It follows two fresh-faced (literally) Weeknd fans, who stumble upon The Weeknd's disembodied head in the middle of the road. Their reaction more of excitement than horror, they take it back to their pretty plush fenced mansion before proceeding to - well, we don't want to give away too much - do things with said head. A man's throat gets slit and there's a slight possibility that there is some face-sitting that goes on. Hey, don't look at us, we're just the messenger.
The rest of this week's Work of the Week is a bit more run of the mill, in the best sense of the phrase. There's an Apple ad from Kim Gehrig, a big PS4 spot directed by Daniel Wolfe and Alex Hulsey, and a bunch more. Check out the full list below and watch out for any severed heads in the middle of the road.
