Wave Studios Welcomes Fresh New Talent in London

Studio announces appointments of Lucy Spong, Katie Buxton, Beth Tomblin and Ellie Brandwood

Wave Studios Welcomes Fresh New Talent in London

Following on from their latest ‘International Sound Design Company Of The Year’ win at the 2022 Kinsale Awards, Wave has announced some fresh, female talent joining the London team.

Lucy Spong arrives into a new role for Wave as head of new business.

Previously a senior producer at Factory Studios, she has a wealth of audio experience having worked on well-loved and award-winning projects such as FIFA, John Lewis Christmas and C4 Superhumans. After six successful years at Factory, Lucy went on to spread her wings production company side at Agile Films where she was an essential part of the sales and EP team driving new business and working closely with the director roster.

Alongside Lucy, Katie Buxton also joins the Wave crew as audio producer.

Katie has been producing projects agency side for McCann Manchester over the past few years and is a wonderful addition to the team.

Both of these new appointments come as Wave catapults even further with the latest promotions of ‘OG Waver’ Beth Tomblin to head of production and Ellie Brandwood to audio producer.

Having already carved out an impressive role in Wave production over the past five years, Beth is a natural in her new position where she will continue to evolve the company and broaden top quality collaborations.

Last but not least, Wave are thrilled to have Ellie jump aboard the ship after her turbulent entry into the advertising world.

With the COVID-19 outbreak in full force on her graduation year, Ellie sadly left Uni with no formal graduation event and struggled to find a job in film / advertising given the unknown future that many employers faced at the time.

Wave MD, Parv Thind scouted Ellie through Linkedin after a mission to provide grads from 2020 with their first opportunities in the industry.

A couple of zooms later, Ellie quit her temporary Morrisons delivery driver job and upped sticks to the big smoke where she has been thriving under Wave’s wing for the last year and a half.

Wave MD, Parv Thind says: "We’re really excited to see Lucy and Katie join Beth and Ellie to make our new look business and production department complete. I feel that all four have the perfect blend of talent and experience to make a great team at Wave."
