Michael B. Jordan is featured in a new spot sponsored by sports drink brand Propel. This follow up to the ‘Propel Your City’ launch film chronicles black and brown led community wellness organisation Walk Good LA in their journey of securing a permanent space.
The video chronicles Walk Good LA CEO and founder Etienne Maurice as he reflects on the events that led up to obtaining a headquarters and what this moment means to him. “A lot of people come to LA in search of something. Looking for a family, looking for a space of belonging. I want to be able to welcome those people with open arms. I want this space to be a space where they feel at home,” explains Maurice.
This film was crafted from a wealth of footage shot on digital, drone, and 16mm. Initially intended as a 30 second piece, senior editor and Splash Studios founder Rigel Kilston suggested a full minute in order to let the vast collection of footage and archival material have a place.
Creative agency Invisible North utilised multiple branches of Splash Studios in post production. In addition to Kilston spearheading the edit, head of operations Peach Rizzo post produced the film and in-house colorist Luke Osborne provided the grade. Collaborator of Splash Studios Job Poels mixed and mastered the audio, with LA based Flame & Nuke artist Josh Bolin, whose work can most recently be admired in Fast X, supplying Flame clean-up.
