Doug Hurcombe joins UK agency in newly created role of social & digital associate creative director

VMLY&R London has announced the arrival of Doug Hurcombe to the newly created role of social & digital associate creative director.

Doug brings 20 plus years’ experience of award-winning creative content with social at the centre. His task is to lead clients’ creative ambitions to become category leaders in the digital space by connecting businesses and brands with people and culture.

From his roots of 'making it viral' with Nike and PlayStation, Doug’s career is woven through the explosion of content and social. He had creatively led the launch of Danone's in-house content factory, drove an original story social re-boot for Nando’s, won a Webby for VisitBritain, and has had a documentary picked up by Sundance.

Doug joins as VMLY&R London continues to expand its digital and social offering by also welcoming Molly Brewer and Nade Kirov. Specialising in social and content driven creative, the team join from Ogilvy where they spent three years developing iconic work for Argos Make Yourself at Home, Škoda’s Real Life Review series and films for Skoda’s prestigious DSI cycling academy, championing young women at the start of their cycling careers alongside Dame Sarah Story.

Doug has said that he’s a massive fan of the agency’s Connected Brands ambition.
