Vince Pope, creative director of beetroot music, has won the prestigious 2011 Royal Television Award for Best Original Score for Misfits Series 2.
The RTS Craft & Design Awards recognise the huge variety of skills involved in programme production.
Vince was presented with the award at a ceremony at The Savoy on Monday, with the judges describing his music as:
“Powerful, emotive, weighty and contemporary. A truly engaging score that worked well with the pictures… always adding to the drama, never becoming melodrama.”
"I'm absolutely delighted with the win - Misfits is an amazing programme to work on," said Vince.
Vince has scored the music for both series of E4's BAFTA award-winning drama, which features five teenagers on community service who develop unusual superpowers after a freak storm.
It's been a busy time for Vince. Writing the music for yet another BAFTA award-winning drama, Wallander, starring Kenneth Branagh; as well as scoring for Sky's supernatural drama, Bedlam, starring Will Young and Kara Tointon.
Vince is currently working on Series 3 of Misfits which is currently on air and breaking viewing figures for E4.
