VOLT Studios is excited to announce that Pete Olson has been made Partner of the Minneapolis-based post studio. Olson has been with VOLT for five years and contributed visual effects and digital artistry to projects of all genres.
"Pete rocks. The decision was a no-brainer. Its been super-fulfilling to have watched him grow into this rock star, since becoming my assistant nearly 11 years ago." says Partner/Creative Director Steve Medin.
"Pete has played an instrumental role in the development of Volt since he joined our team," adds VOLT Partner/C.O.O. Charlie Lach. "He's helped expand our capabilities tremendously and has a truly unique skill set that spans artistry, technology, and strategy. It's making official the contribution he plays every day."
Olson began his career in audio before being lured to a film set where he fell in love with production, before ultimately making his name in post-production as a VFX Artist. He was encouraged to join VOLT Studios by longtime friend and former colleague Steve Medin. At VOLT, Pete has lent his signature talent to a wealth of projects from commercials to long format brand films. Among them, the Arby's 13 Hour Brisket and the DOUBLEURXXX Productions - a dangerously unpredictable child of Subaru of America. Starring WRX STI Rally driver and skateboard legend Bucky Lasek, DOUBLEURXXX features a trailer titled Ride of Her Life and a 16-minute reality show called The Chosen Ones.
Carmichael Lynch Creative Director Ryan Peck, who led the DOUBLEURXXX project, says, "Pete is the rarest of people; humble, insanely-talented and makes everything he touches better. Plus he loves Slayer and Motorhead. I would work with him on anything."
Ted Knutson, Executive Producer at Fallon, has collaborated with Pete Olson and the VOLT Studios team on projects for H&R Block and most recently, the Arbys We Have the Meats campaign. He notes, "At VOLT, I know I am in great hands and everything will be handled perfectly and professionally. Pete rocks it every time!"
