The Hive has made a major leadership move, appointing seasoned strategist Dino Demopoulos as chief strategy officer to round out its top executive leadership team.
A highly respected figure in the strategic planning community, Dino has provided the thinking behind many ground-breaking marketing campaigns while heading strategy at such agencies as BBDO Proximity, DDB Tribal Worldwide, No Fixed Address and GUT.
Dino joins The Hive at a pivotal juncture in the agency’s 30-year-plus history. The Hive began this year with a new CEO, Josie Daga, and is now poised to begin the next stage of its continued growth as an independent agency in Canada with an executive team of top-tier industry talent.
The appointment of Dino also marks a reunion with CEO Josie. Their shared vision and history of success will be instrumental in shaping The Hive’s next chapter.
The Hive’s leadership team includes Josie, Dino, chief client officer Hilary Roberts and co-chief creative officers Lauren McCrindle and Erin Wendel, who joined The Hive last summer from McCann, New York.
“As a Canadian independent we can choose to invest in the kind of talent we need to do the best work for our clients,” said Josie. “With the addition of Lauren and Erin last summer, Hilary as our client lead and now Dino, we have built an incredibly talented executive bench. These senior leaders are ready to work directly with our clients to help their businesses and brands grow.”
Added Dino, “I’ve long believed that the most exciting work comes from independent agencies—where talent, culture, and ambition drive everything. The Hive embodies all of these qualities, and I’m thrilled to be part of its next chapter.”
Throughout his career, Dino has led strategic planning on many of the world’s top brands, including Volkswagen, Pepsi, McDonald’s, Canadian Tire, Shaw, Tim Hortons, Tropicana and Quaker. While at DDB, Dino was involved in such award-winning campaigns as Adidas’ “Run More” and Honey Nut Cheerios’ “How To Dad.” His work on Tim Hortons was awarded a Grand Effie for creative effectiveness.
