Brand takes aim at hay fever in spot from director Adam Bolt

As lockdown in the UK ends, Spring is in the air – but unfortunately for hay fever sufferers, so is pollen. So this new ad for Optrex Actimist is perfect timing. With catchy graphics and colourful images, the spot captures perfectly the feeling of unwanted itchy eyes. The spot was all shot in-camera and directed/animated by Adam Bolt through UNIT9.

This was a true collaboration - produced by UNIT9, with Havas London as the agency and ENVY Post Production adding the final touches. The campaign is running on various social and digital platforms.

Adam Bolt, director, comments: “We were excited to see the creative for this spot right from the jump - the agency deck featured a character with these hilarious, miserable flaming eyes painted on her face. Such a creative representation of suffering allergies, and not your typical approach to a medical spot! We saw this eye design work as the heart of the film, and strove to distill the designs of all four characters into the clearest, most humorous, and emotive looks possible. We think we came away with something that feels like a living meme, and that’s pretty awesome to us.”
