Undivided Signs Director Oren Kaplan

Undivided has announced the signing of director Oren Kaplan. 

LA based commercial director Oren Kaplan is a meticulous filmmaker who’s love for the craft is apparent in the work he creates.  Whether he’s directing Athletes, A-list celebrities or family members (Oren’s wife stars alongside Pete Davidson in his Converse spot) Oren is the kind of director that likes to see what transpires. Maybe that’s what makes his comedy so successful. It’s about the subtleties and nuanced comedic timing that help his work stand out. His work exudes a lightheartedness that elevates a script and he loves to throw in a good old fashion action stunt to keep things interesting. 

Oren has worked with brands like Converse, Pepsi, Jeep, Amazon and Uber..to name a few. Where we can get a real glimpse into Orens style of comedy storytelling is in his spots for Converse featuring Pete Davidson and Servpro which had Oren creating a non-existent test facility using vintage film props. Both spots showcase Oren’s unique ability to successfully leverage practical effects . 

Having grown up in Israel before moving to LA, Oren originally set his sights on becoming an engineer, which landed him at a job working in the Silicon Valley. Here he was able to hone his technical skills and ultimately make the move into filmmaking. He directed a number of episodic shows before directing his first feature film titled The Hammer which tells the story of the first Deaf wrestler to win the National Collegiate Wrestling Championship. 

Oren’s popular podcast Just Shoot It hosts a different director every week where they discuss all the things that go into getting your start. An amazing place for young filmmakers to learn some incredibly helpful tips and to become inspired to create.  

Oren is currently working on a PSA that will feature actor Rebel Wilson. There may or may not be some pretty epic stunts involved.. and maybe even a crate of Pythons.
