FitzRoy, the UK-based charity supporting people with disabilities, has kicked off a fundraising campaign for its Love4Life project, an initiative that helps people with learning disabilities find love and forge lifelong relationships. . Born out of the harsh reality that people with learning disabilities often end up facing abuse or harm when seeking out online dating services, the Love4Life project helps to create a safe environment through access to date chaperones, educational workshops around building safe relationships, planned activities and "date nights", a member matching service and more.
Driving awareness to the campaign is an online video, "Everyone Needs Love", from London agency, The Eden Stanley Group and directed by MICH of global production company, UNIT9. The film follows a same sex couple with Down's Syndrome as they go on their first date together, and the reactions they face from those around them. The film drives home the fact that #EveryoneNeedsLove, and directs people to the FitzRoy website where they can make a donation and support the cause.
