Über Content is pleased to announce the signing of New York director Keith Ehrlich for commercial representation. Keith is best known as the creator and director of “Made by Hand,” a series of short films that celebrate the craftsmanship of local artisans. Already recognized as a member of the new generation of documentary makers, Keith joins Über to further establish himself as a force in the commercial arena.
Ehrlich arrives at Über Content having made the move to commercials with several client-direct projects. He recently shot a project for Coca-Cola in Myanmar to celebrate the upcoming FIFA World Cup in Brazil – part of a global campaign out of Wieden + Kennedy Sao Paulo. Additionally, Ehrlich directed several Carlton Crown Lager spots out of Clemenger BBDO in Melbourne; part of a new campaign highlighting the brewery’s commitment to sourcing the finest ingredients available. Ehrlich has already worked with a list of notable clients that also includes Nike, CNN, HBO, American Express, The Wall Street Journal, Smirnoff, Yahoo, and Cisco to name a few.
Two years ago, he was inspired to create and direct “Made by Hand,” an ongoing series of web shorts spotlighting people that make things sustainably, locally, and with a passion for their craft. The films have gone on to be seen by over a million people and have received praise from many media outlets including Esquire, Vogue, GQ, Filmmaker, The LA Times, and Creative Review. The project was also featured as an official selection of the 2013 SXSW film festival. Last spring, the series was expanded with a touching documentary called The Bike Maker. The short film delves into the life of Ezra Caldwell, an inspiring and talented maker of custom bicycles, whose cancer threatens his livelihood.
Creatively driven by the notion that it’s best to keep things simple, Keith Ehrlich has honed an artful, minimalistic aesthetic and style of storytelling. He crafts highly cinematic visuals with the eye of a designer, and consistently puts forth a refreshing regard for honesty and authenticity that shows through in his work.
The Über producing and sales teams are thrilled to have rising star Keith Ehrlich join the ranks and for the opportunity to bring his fresh perspective to more advertising projects. The feeling is mutual, with Keith saying, “Über’s reputation speaks for itself. They’ve been at it for several years, producing some of the best projects out there while working with an incredibly talented group of directors.”
