Publicis Toronto has announced its collaboration with the Toronto Jewish Film Festival (TJFF) in unveiling an exciting campaign for the 2024 edition, scheduled to take place from May 30th to June 9th. As one of the world's largest Jewish film festival and a beloved tradition in Toronto for over three decades, TJFF and Publicis Toronto are coming together to spread joy, positivity, and celebrate the timeless art of storytelling.
Inspired by the rich Jewish tradition of oral storytelling, where tales were passed down from generation to generation, Publicis Toronto, in partnership with renowned illustrator Fabio Vido, has crafted a series of visually stunning Out-of-Home (OOH) posters. These posters pay homage to the ancient practice of storytelling while drawing parallels with the magic of cinema, where storytelling takes centre stage.
The campaign serves as a tribute to the things that unite us - imagination, curiosity, and the universal love for a good story. By weaving together elements of Jewish heritage with contemporary cinematic imagery, the campaign aims to resonate with audiences of all backgrounds, inviting them to embark on a journey of discovery and connection. In addition to the OOH campaign, digital executions will amplify the message.
Victor Yves, head of art at Publicis Toronto, commented, "Developing this campaign for the Toronto Jewish Film Festival has been a deeply rewarding experience. These posters are a really nice way to celebrate cinema, the power of storytelling and the beauty of cultural heritage. It’s always thrilling to promote unity and positivity through our work, and we’re proud to help TJFF amplify its message”.
Helen Zukerman, artistic director at the Toronto Jewish Film Festival, expresses, "At TJFF, we believe in the power of storytelling to bridge cultures and foster understanding. This campaign embodies that spirit, inviting audiences of all backgrounds to come together and celebrate the universal language of cinema."
Since its inception in 1993, the Toronto Jewish Film Festival has been a source of inspiration and cultural enrichment, showcasing stories that resonate with audiences from all walks of life. With initiatives such as community outreach programs, the festival continues to champion diversity and inclusivity, fostering meaningful connections and dialogue within the community.
