Supply&Demand Director Sean Thonson Puts Mercedes on Ice
When Merkley & Partners in New York needed a director to twirl half a dozen vehicles on a frozen lake, they enlisted none other than Supply&Demand Director Sean Thonson. Featuring the new Mercedes C-Class in an Ice Capades-like performance, "Waltz" is pure entertainment.
"Waltz" features the all new Mercedes C-Class choreographed on top of frozen Spray Lake in Alberta, Canada. Cameras froze and lenses popped as an unexpected snowstorm hit. Blustery, blizzard-like conditions weren't written in the script, however the agency and the crew decided to work with it enduring brutal sideways winds. With the exception of one composite, all shots were captured in-camera including the aerials shot via helicopter. Thonson was faced with a set of unbelievable challenges, but the results are remarkable.
The Ice Capades have nothing on the Mercedes C-Class performance.
