Milo Chao, chief strategy officer at DDB Chicago, and Kevin Richey, EVP, strategy at Team DDB, have launched a podcast together.
Entitled '
On Voice', the main aim of the podcast is to delve into how individuals can discover and express their voices in a world that, its creators say, often silences, misunderstands, or fails to provide the necessary space for personal development.
"The genesis of this idea emerged from an internal workshop during which we were formulating an annual training plan for the strategy department," say Milo and Kevin. "Throughout our discussions, we realised that training serves a higher purpose - it gives us all a voice, providing the knowledge, authority, and confidence to speak up, guide, and drive impactful work and results.
Milo and Kevin say it's important to note that this podcast goes beyond the realm of advertising. It delves into the exploration of one's own unique voice, offering a more introspective and exploratory experience compared to typical business podcasts.
"We believe it could resonate with many individuals in and beyond DDB who may be feeling uncertain, insecure, or hesitant about expressing their own voice."
So far, the podcast consists of five episodes. Guests have included Mikhail Fiksel, a Tony award-winning sound designer, Anne K Ream, founder of the Voices and Faces Project, Megan Stielstra, author of The Wrong Way to Save Your Life, Amanda Delheimer - artistic Director of Second Story, and Sandra Alfaro, former DDB Chicago president and soon to be US CEO of GUT.
