Londoners no longer need to panic when they’re caught out without their favourite scent, thanks to a new limited-edition service from Deliveroo and The Perfume Shop, that will deliver an emergency spritz of fragrance when in desperate need.
Eau De-Liveroo x The Perfume Shop, launched to mark the arrival of The Perfume Shop on the Deliveroo app across the UK, comes as research reveals almost two-thirds (60%) of Londoners have forgotten to wear or pack their perfume when heading out, leaving them feeling annoyed (32%), and unprepared (22%).
When asked which moments most often require a confidence boosting mist, Londoners confessed that preparing for a date (38%), during a night out (36%) or before a job interview (32%) top the list of occasions where they hate to be caught short. So frustrating is forgetting perfume that one fifth (20%) of Londoners have even cancelled or rescheduled their plans as a result.
Perfume has become such a key part of our daily routine that the majority (87%) of Londoners wear it regularly, with UK millennials saying their fragrance (37%) is the most essential item to grab when heading out the front door after their phone (68%), keys (53%) and wallet (47%). When asked why fragrance is such a necessity, Londoners say it leaves them feeling fresh (48%), confident (44%) and attractive (41%), and for nearly half (45%) of gen z and millennials in the UK, being complimented on their fragrance is the best physical compliment they can receive.
Launched in London on 23rd October, followed by Manchester (24th) and Bristol (25th), Eau De-Liveroo x The Perfume Shop can be booked by simply messaging 07881130168 on WhatsApp. A dedicated driver, wearing a tailor-made delivery bag in the form of a giant perfume bottle, will be ready and waiting in each city to save locals in a sticky situation. After receiving a request, the ‘Eau De-Liveroo Rider’ will scoot to the rescue in as little as 15 minutes, offering a choice of ten best-selling perfumes to spray and take away, for free, including Prada Paradoxe, Mugler Alien, Montblanc Explorer, and Hugo Boss Bottled (full list in notes to editors).
The arrival of the service should also come as welcome news to the over half (54%) of Londoners who find it hard to access perfume spontaneously without spending a fortune on a new bottle.
Arabella Jenkins from Deliveroo adds, “At Deliveroo, we understand that in our customers’ busy day-to-day lives, convenience is key, so we’re proud to partner with The Perfume Shop to give the nation a chance to have a spritz of their favourite scent in the moments when they need it most. It’s not fun realising you’ve left your trusty fragrance at home when you’re on your way to an important event, but hopefully our new service will ensure you arrive feeling fresh and fabulous.”
Gill Smith, managing director at The Perfume Shop comments, “It’s an exciting time for The Perfume Shop to be launching on Deliveroo, giving customers over 1,000 fragrances to choose from - be it a gift for yourself or for others, look no further than The Perfume Shop on Deliveroo for all your same-day perfume needs.”
The research also revealed that the most popular perfume amongst Londoners is amber (39%), and it’s also what they find most attractive on others (35%). Aromatic fragrances (which typically have notes of sage, rosemary, cumin, lavender and other plants which possess a very intensive grass-spicy scent) take the second spot for most attractive scent (34%).
Deliveroo and The Perfume Shop has rolled out a national partnership with 21 stores now available on the Deliveroo app, offering over 1,000 different products, available at the touch of a button.
And customers who aren’t able to order the free service won’t miss out, as Deliveroo is offering a 20% discount (up to £10 off) with the code SPRITZ20 when you spend £20 at The Perfume Shop until 31st October 2024.
