With an animated short film produced by Zombie Studio, Emirates NBD presents the “Financial Wellbeing”: an interactive hub of simple financial information aimed at helping people expand their knowledge of personal finance and learn about different behaviours and trends.
In an emotional tone, the film tells the story of a character who learns to value and save his money from an early age, inspired by a significant moment in his life: the first coin he earned while playing with his grandfather during a magic trick. From that point on, he is seen making intentional choices not to spend that coin, leading him to save others as well.
As the animation progresses, the protagonist grows up, gets married, and passes the lesson on to future generations, all without necessarily having to forgo good choices, such as buying a larger home for the family. With the tagline “In the journey of life, every milestone achieved is a lesson learned,” the piece aims to highlight how financial education is also passed down from parent to child—and that knowing how to manage it makes people feel more confident and achieve more goals.
“There are many ways for a bank to talk about financial health and education, but nothing resonates like a captivating story that reflects the experiences of so many families, regardless of their culture. It generates identification and reflection in a much more natural way. By materialising the bank's initiative to provide access to financial information in a lighter manner, the short presents this concept through an emotional narrative,” said Daniel Salles, partner and executive creative director at Zombie Studio.
