Joseph Mann invites us under the floorboards of a quintessentially English pub to sneak a peek at mice behaving badly in this cheeky and charming promo for Police Dog Hogan’s ‘West Country Boy’.
As the band strike up all the regulars are rollicking, from granny in the corner with her knitting, to teenagers at the bar knocking back Aftershock, and Mr & Mrs Mouse aren’t about to miss out on the knees up. It’s a perfectly crafted tale conveying heart and humour in equal measure.
Expertly employing his trademark plethora of techniques, Joseph aptly encapsulates the pub spirit via hand drawn animation, 3D printing, stop-frame animation and live-action puppets, creating a joyful mixed media jamboree.
It is a right old Blink family affair with Jonny and Will’s puppeteering mastery, Kyle Bean’s prop perfection and BlinkInk Studio post production prowess, all for James Studholme’s brilliant band, Police Dog Hogan.
