The Sweetshop welcomes the incredible director duo, Kid Burro, to The Sweetshop roster for representation in the UK and Europe. Hailing from Brazil, André H. Saito and Cesar Nery have made their mark on the ad and film world with their eye for detailed characters and jaw-dropping aesthetics.
What really sets Kid Burro apart is their commitment to bringing raw, human emotion to the screen. No matter the genre, their work is all about real, compelling storytelling that connects with audiences in powerful ways.
Their recent project for O Boticário which balances metaphorical visuals with a grounded emotional story, has been gathering momentum at awards shows, winning Silver at Ciclope as well shortlisting at the American Advertising Awards, Cannes Lions and AICP Awards, and landing a spot on the 1.4 Awards longlist.
Morgan Whitlock, managing director and executive producer in London, said, “I knew Kid Burro were for us the moment I saw their “Tempest” film for O Boticario. The mastery of the technical and the human is exceptional, it’s a film that manages to wow with scale and moves with its insight and intimacy. To see the breadth of their work, and the consistency of their craft just underlines what a phenomenal talent they possess. I cannot wait to step onto set and watch them weave their spell.”
Kid Burro have worked with major brands like Instagram, Volkswagen, and PepsiCo, earning recognition at Cannes Lions, Clio, Ciclope, and El Ojo. Named one of Brazil's Top 10 New Talents in 2016, they quickly rose to the Top 10 Advertising Directors by 2019. Their short film Thomas Tristonho won Best Storyline at the New York Film Festival.
On joining The Sweetshop, Kid Burro said, "Our paths crossed with Morgan when one of our films deeply resonated with him. Now, we’re excited to be joining forces with The Sweetshop to tell stories that are not only meaningful and deeply moving, but truly unforgettable."
