The Story Lab, dentsu’s Emmy-nominated in-house production company that helps brands reach elusive streaming audiences by creating and producing premium television, documentaries, animation and feature films, has recently hired Geneva Wasserman as its first EVP, head of scripted development and production. This is a new role, and Geneva will build and manage The Story Lab’s IP portfolio and content strategy for scripted film and television to develop, finance, produce and distribute globally.
Geneva has more than 20 years experience in the entertainment industry and comes to The Story Lab from Conde Nast Entertainment, where she developed and produced many notable projects including the feature film Spiderhead, based on the short story Escape from Spiderhead by George Saunders set to launch on Netflix in 2022 from The New Yorker Studios.
The Story Lab continues to distinguish themselves in the marketplace by bringing on top-notch talent like Geneva, adding to its robust client roster, and creating inspiring work. The Story Lab recently collaborated with Hand Made Productions and P&G on the recent limited three-part series, The Tent Mender, a documentary film spotlighting people experiencing homelessness. In addition, The Story Lab in partnership with Michael Strahan’s production company SMAC is behind the Emmy-nominated The Cost of Winning -- the four-part documentary series that followed the against-all-odds story of St. Frances Academy's football program.
