The Romans’ creative x corporate duo of Beth Arnold and Jack Colman has won the prestigious UK Young Lions Competition for 2025. It is the fifth time the agency has produced UK winners.
The pair clinched the title with their disruptive campaign for Cats Protection, aimed at raising awareness for poor breeding practices and the importance of adoption.
In response to the brief, Beth (creative) and Jack (senior account director, corporate) penned the distinctive ‘The Handmaid’s Tail’ - a chilling rewrite of Margaret Attwood’s iconic novel through the eyes of over-bred cats - to launch in time with the TV series’ final season later this year.
The team will now go on to represent the UK PR industry in the Global Young Lions completion, held in Cannes in June.
Reflecting on their win, Beth and Jack said, “Alexa, what’s the forecast in Cannes? We are hugely excited to be representing the UK and The Romans on the global stage. Stay tuned.”
Joe Mackay-Sinclair, CEO of The Romans said, "The whole agency is absolutely buzzing about Beth and Jack’s win and we couldn’t be prouder. This is the fifth time teams from The Romans have won the competition - the first with corporate representation - which is a testament to how we continue to evolve as an agency and invest in young creative talent from all corners of the PR industry. Bring on the globals in Cannes.”
Among a total of 48 teams entering the competition, only six made it to the finals. This is the second year in a row The Romans has won the UK title, following creative duo Scarlet Pughe and Jack Moriarty’s triumph last year. The agency also has a duo in the final of the MENA Young Lions Competition - Cham Alatrach and Katie Bell-Wright - which takes place on 15th April.
