The Hive is taking its creative approach to the next level with the addition of two new executive creative directors (ECDs).
Jung Ahn and Sacha Ouimet have joined the agency as co-ECDs with Ahn based in Toronto and Ouimet in Montreal. Both bring deep resumes of award-winning work and industry excellence to their new roles at The Hive. The additions come after several months of growth and new business wins for the independent creative agency. In 2022, this includes expanded mandates for top brands like OLG, Lactalis and Metro plus the addition of EQ Bank and others to The Hive client roster.
“Investing in the best creative talent is a big part of The Hive’s growth strategy,” says Jared Stein, CEO of The Hive. “The scope of our agency has grown immensely this year, both in terms of the number of brands we’re working with and the depth of our service offerings. Our ability to continue to offer world class creative and strategic thinking, rooted in culture, meant we absolutely had to build our services out in Quebec and across North America. Bringing in two talents like Jung and Sacha will only serve to enhance and expand our ability to do so.”
Ahn brings 15+ years of creative industry experience to The Hive, including roles that landed her in Toronto, New York City, Los Angeles, Amsterdam and Seoul. She was most recently the creative director at Dentsu One, Dentsu International's global creative network. She also spent several years as the creative director for Dentsu One in addition to past roles with top agencies including Cossette, John st. and Leo Burnett. In her spare time, Ahn collaborates with We-Designs to work on various creative projects outside of the advertising world Ouimet joins The Hive from CCM Hockey where he served as global creative director for the iconic sports equipment brand. He also has deep agency roots, having held senior creative roles at McCann, kbs and Cossette. In addition, Ouimet has been a guest speaker and lecturer at schools including Arizona State University and Université de Moncton. Ouimet will lead the build out of The Hive’s Montreal group while collaborating closely with Jung as co-ECDs.
“I joined The Hive because of the vision and ambition they’ve laid out,” says Ahn. “I’m excited to work on a new and modern offering for this market.”
Ouimet adds, “The opportunity to continue to build on a culture of collaboration, and mutual respect – both internally and with our clients – is exhilarating.”
