The Gate London has hired Ben Milligan as strategy director to work across their growing portfolio of clients. Ben brings two decades of experience, having created effective and award-winning work for the likes of Channel 4, MINI, Adidas, and Domino’s. He started his career in media at Rocket, before moving on to help fuel the growth of Naked and Holler. From there he led creative and brand strategy projects at Karmarama, Saatchi & Saatchi, W+K and most recently Iris. His experience spans marketing strategy, brand and comms planning, consumer insight, data analysis and cultural strategy.
Kit Altin, CSO of The Gate, said, “We are properly thrilled to welcome Ben to the team. He has a great track record creating famous and effective work. His experience and energy are exactly the kinds that will help our clients and the agency Walk Through Walls. And most of all, he’s just the right kind of wonderful misfit to add to our unique strategy team, where wildly different minds come as standard.”
Ben Milligan said, “I’m excited to join at an exciting time for The Gate, helping them write the next chapter in their story, working with a bunch of smart, genuine, ambitious human beings who are bothered about the work they do and the effect it has on the people and world around them.”
The Gate has won a variety of high profile industry awards in the last 18 months including: the Transport for London Diversity in Advertising competition for its ‘Sex Never Gets Old’ campaign for Replens; five Cannes Lions (including Gold); three D&AD Pencils (including Yellow); two Creative Circle awards); three CLIOs; two One Show Pencils; four Kinsale Sharks (including two Gold); APG Gold for Creative Strategy; Most effective use of data and insight, Not for Profit Marketing, and the Judges Choice: Most Inspirational Story at The Marketing Society awards; Strategy Team of the Year at The Drum’s Business Awards.
