Is picking up a salad for dinner applause-worthy? It is in Taylor Farms’ new ‘Get Your Salad Together’ campaign. Devised by Erich & Kallman, Taylor Farms’ creative agency, the devilish campaign just kicked off with the ad, ‘Then Everyone Clapped.’ In it, a shopper picks up a Taylor Farms chopped Caesar salad kit. A nearby grocery clerk applauds, leading a slow clap that erupts into a standing ovation from the entire store. Even the shopper’s parents appear, proudly beaming and making their son’s choice seem as laudable as an Academy Award. Even the cash register rolls up to congratulate him.
Also set in a grocery store, the campaign’s second spot, ‘Besides Myself,’ shows a mom picking a Taylor Farms ready-made kale salad and asking her husband, son, and daughter if they should have it with dinner. All three excitedly agree, with the son exclaiming, “I’m literally beside myself!” The shot then expands to show the son standing next to his identical twin brother…which does, indeed, make him literally beside himself.
“The joy in this campaign is ‘it's funny because it's true,’’ said creative team Sarah Johnson and Scott Fish, Erich & Kallman. “We all feel proud of ourselves when we eat a salad. Maybe the whole room isn't clapping for us, but they are in spirit. We can't say enough about working with Taylor Farms. From day one, they've been eager to push the category norms to make work that resonates."
The spots were directed by Taso Alexander with the production company Arts & Sciences. The media agency used was Hunterblu Media.
This is Erich & Kallman’s first campaign for Taylor Farms after being named its creative agency in 2024.
“It’s time that less-processed, fresh food has the kind of great marketing that snack and soft drink brands have had," said Bryan Jaynes, VP product management, Taylor Farms. “We love Erich & Kallman’s clever use of humor to highlight Taylor Farms as an irresistible part of meals that everyone can feel good about, furthering our commitment to helping Americans eat better.”
