Creative agency TANK Worldwide has appointed Akwanne Onuoha to EVP managing director EMEA only a few months after naming her managing director EMEA, which further cements TANK WW’s presence and continued success led out of London. This comes on the heels of TANK WW winning a full branding and launch assignment for a luxury wellness centre in 2023, as well as expanded global business across the GSK Vaccines portfolio.
Akwa has been part of the agency’s growth since 2015 and moved from Montreal to London three years ago to open TANK WW’s first office in Europe. With nearly 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, she combines strategic expertise and global project management skills with superior knowledge of the marketing industry on both a local and international scale. As a business lead and managing director in Health for the last seven years at TANK WW, Akwa has pre-launched, launched and grown various HIV brands at ViiV Healthcare on a tier two market level (Canada), led the GSK Global & US Benlysta commercial AoR scopes, and has worked in other therapy areas in oncology and CVDM.
“Akwa has been an incredible partner and catalyst for growth in the London office due to her unprecedented knowledge and expertise in the healthcare space. Her can-do attitude and shared ambition make her the right leader to continue to grow our London presence”, declares Marc Lanouette, chief executive officer at TANK Worldwide.
“I am thrilled to be part of a team and leadership whom are focused on creating and solving real challenges in the health and wellness space through diversity of thought, creativity and a quest to deliver flawlessly for our clients”, says Akwanne Onuoha. This appointment to me signals TANK’s continued commitment to develop and champion the people, clients and the work. I am very excited to be part of what lies ahead for TANK Worldwide in this part of the globe.”
In the past six months, TANK WW has doubled their headcount in London. Key hires include the award winning creative duo Natasher 'Tash' Beecher and Augustine 'Gus' Nwanya, an experienced account team led by Suzanne Grason-Leach and bolstered with Charlotte Cooper, rounded out with the very strong and talented global brand strategist - Emily Thompson Guéret.
“We’re very excited about the culture we’re building in TANK London. DE&I is core to how we operate, expand, and grow”, adds Akwanne Onuoha. “We’re creating a place where diversity of thought is not only welcomed and encouraged, but crucial to helping us create work that is culturally relevant. And it's because of this mindset and creative culture that we have been able to elevate our offering and thrive as a forward-thinking agency."
