Sydney FC Appoints Suzie Shaw, Chief Executive of ‘We Are Social’, to the Club’s Board of Directors

Shaw heads up We Are Social’s 60-strong Australian team having joined the company in mid-2015.

With 25 years in advertising and marketing, Suzie is a strategic and creative thinker with extensive experience consulting to many large global brands in sport, media & entertainment, travel, and financial services.

Chairman Scott Barlow said the appointment was an important step for the club.

“I’m very pleased to be appointing Suzie as a director to the Sydney FC board.

“Suzie is an expert in her field, and she brings with her a broad range of skills and experience across the marketing, advertising and social media sector, which will complement the capabilities of our board perfectly,” he said.

“Suzie has a genuine passion for football, and growing Sydney FC and the game in Australia.

“I am looking forward to working with her.”

Suzie Shaw is CEO of creative agency We Are Social based in Chippendale in Sydney.

Suzie spent 14 years in London advertising agencies before returning to her native Australia in 2011.

A keen football and sports fan, she is also passionate about gender equity and climate action.

“Sydney FC is an iconic club with limitless potential, and there’s arguably never been a more exciting time for football in Australia,” she said.

“The passion generated by the FIFA Women’s World Cup has given us a once-in-a-generation opportunity for growth and I can’t wait to get started.”
