Cavendish Music took to the Left Banks Art Centre to create a percussion sample pack for its trailer music project 'Swagger'

Armed with orchestral percussion, scrap metal, everyday objects and foot stomps, Cavendish took to the Left Banks Arts Centre, a former Church in Leeds to create a percussion sample pack for its trailer music project, Swagger. The objective was to invent a distinctive sound world for the albums, and help the composers to step away from the mainstream commercial percussion samples which can date a production so easily.

Sample recordings were created with the help of music composition and sound design team WMP, an award winning team of composers and sound designers based in Leeds. They are driven by musical collaboration, innovation and appreciation and love to be challenged, so as soon as the opportunity to be involved in the Swagger project came along, they knew they were on board.

The pack was given to a select group of Cavendish's writers, who were briefed to write contemporary trailer and promo-friendly tracks with plenty of ‘swagger’. Building on the originality afforded by the sample pack, the music is creative and original in its own right, favouring unusual sounds and feels over the regular, played-out epic music tropes. The tracks are available with and without the 48-piece orchestra, recorded at Tom Tom Studio in Budapest with the Hungarian Studio Orchestra.
