Supreme Music Turns up the Volume for 15th Birthday

Founded in 2008 by Florian Lakenmacher and Maximilian Olowinsky, Supreme Music is turning up the volume on 15 years!

Picking up the guitar as a child, Flo made his way to the producer’s seat through the hip hop scene, swapping live music for a seat in the studio. Working with artists such as Azad, DAS BO, Ferris MC, Valezka, and Cassandra Steen led to chart success in Germany, after which his passion shifted towards moving images. Over the years, Florian has collected national and international awards. In 2016 he was awarded the Cannes Lions Grand Prix for his song #heimkommen, written for Edeka. And in 2022 his music for the advertising film for Penny The Wish, made the company Music Company of the Year at the prestigious Ciclope awards. On top of his award recognition, Florian is regularly invited to juries such as the OneShow, ADC, and Werbefilmpreis.

A genre-defying journey from viola and piano lessons in the Black Forest to headline shows with electro act Saint Pauli in Australia eventually landed Max in Hamburg, where he set up the first Supreme Music studio with Flo. Max feels right at home on anything with keys, blowing the dust off any of his extensive collection of vintage and analogue gear at any given chance. His diverse musical background allows him to think outside of recognisable genres, and he often combines various influences into his work. Max holds a position as Board Member of the Composers Club and on juries for the Deutscher Werbefilmpreis and ADC. He is also a guest lecturer at the film academy in Ludwigsburg.

2023 marks not only the 15 year anniversary, but also year one of Supreme Music US, which was co-founded with Rani Zarina Vaz and Marc McClusky in New York.

Rani brings a celebrated leadership and expertise to the creative process. In her many years as SVP/ Director of Music at BBDO NY, Rani directed music and sound for projects garnering Cannes Lions, Clio’s, ADDY’s, ANDY’s, One Show Pencils, LIA’s and Emmy Awards. Rani is regularly called upon by her peers to lead and serve in the jurying of industry awards, including the LIA, AMP, AICP, LIA, Clios, AMP Awards, Shots and The One Show. A native New Yorker and daughter of two renowned concert violinists, at an early age Rani became fluent in the backstage sounds of Lincoln Center and NYC’s recording studios. Classically trained at Juilliard and Swarthmore, Rani continues her own violinistic pursuits and has performed on numerous stages, including Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, Geffen Hall, Koch Theater, Bargemusic and in clubs throughout NYC. Rani’s lifelong commitment to music is rooted in education, and she is currently a Trustee member at the School for Strings in NYC.

Marc is a multi-platinum award-winning producer, mixer, composer, and creative director based in New York City. His credits include multiple top-5 Billboard albums and a #1 album on iTunes. Over Marc’s 20-plus year career, he has worked with labels: Atlantic, Geffen, Island / Def Jam, Epitaph, Hopeless, Warner, Fueled By Ramen, creating albums for artists: Weezer, Bad Religion, Everclear, Motion City Soundtrack, Farewell, Ludo, and Grandson, for producers: Rick Ruben, Brett Gurewitz, Ulrich Wild, and many others. He has worked on several feature films and currently scores the stories of some of the world’s largest brands like Coca-Cola, Lexus, and Ford. Marc’s production talents span almost every genre, from rock to pop, from electronic to hardcore and cinematic.​

With the new shop in New York, a growing team of creatives, producers, sound technicians and strategists, and with all the beautiful projects out or in the pipeline, the team deserves a celebration - and an awesome film to promote it!

Talented London based director and photographer Joe Giacomet teamed up with editor Matthew Prickett and Supreme Music, to create a one-of-a-kind film. It captures the fun, passion and craft Supreme Music stands for, when it comes to being creative partner for their agency clients and production partners.
