The Barkleys - Subaru’s family of dogs that drive like people - are back for a series of comical ads, directed by SKUNK’s Brian Lee Hughes. The spots aired during the Screen Actors Guild Awards telecast on the 21st January.
Randy Hughes, executive creative director at Carmichael Lynch, commented, “This year, the creative team had additional inspiration in the new three-row Ascent, the biggest vehicle Subaru has ever made, and we looked for ideas that would let us give the world an early peek at this new vehicle, that led to the car wash and dropping the puppy off for the first day of school.”
As always with the Barkleys, there’s a cute factor overload, but four years into the campaign, Brian Lee Hughes and the team have worked hard to make sure that the newest collection live up to the work’s impressive pedigree. The spot was created by Carmichael Lynch, edited by Drive Thru, with post production completed by Derek Johnson.
