Director X teams up with editor Rigel Kilston on the official Budweiser anthem

The music video for 'The World is Yours to Take' by Lil Baby featuring Tears for Fears released yesterday. The video is directed by the world renowned Director X whose credits include cultural phenomena from Rihanna’s “Pon de Replay” to Drake’s “Hotline Bling”. “The World is Yours to Take”, edited by Splash Studios senior editor Rigel Kilston, is a nod to the '80s classic that it samples both sonically and visually.

“I’ve worked on many music videos throughout my career with incredible directors like BRTHR, Ben Strebel and more. But as a lifelong hip hop fan, getting the opportunity to work with Director X was about as exciting as it gets," said Rigel Kilston.

As the official Budweiser anthem for the FIFA World Cup, the video is backdropped by the incredible energy of the stadiums. Not only the influencers and fans who gathered there from around the world, but also the footballers themselves in all their moments of glory.

The original video opens on an unforgettable shot of an Austin-Healey 3000 sports car charging down the highway. 'The World is Yours to Take' nods to its predecessor while amping up the imagery with a fire engine red 1969 Ford Mustang Fastback roaring across the desert. The dirtbikes and atvs of the Tears for Fears classic are resurrected and amplified with thrilling stunt work in the Lil Baby video. Where iconic narrative scenes of the original are punctuated by Tears for Fears performing their song in a sound studio, Lil Baby is captured rapping his lyrics in a live club performance for adoring fans.

The new video includes some all new imagery sure to be remembered in its own right. Football players in action are plastered across skyscrapers. Speed boats spin circles around each other. The film culminates with a show stopping burning football pitch generated by Sem Leuven at Dutch VFX studio 50mm.amsterdam.

The video was produced by Wink, Fela, and Resolution Films. Sound mix was done by Audentity with Company 3 carrying out the color grade.
