Sophie Muller and Theo Adams Direct Music Video for Jessie Ware’s ‘Freak Me Now’, Featuring Roisin Murphy

Sophie Muller and Theo Adams have directed the music video for Jessie Ware’s new single ‘Freak Me Now’, featuring Roisin Murphy. ‘Freak Me Now’ is taken from Jessie Ware’s critically acclaimed UK No. 3 album ‘That! Feels Good!’ Sophie and Theo co-directed the music video for ‘Pearls’ in February. The video was produced by PRETTYBIRD and directed by Sophie Muller (Sade, Gwen Stefani, Blur) and Theo Adams (FKA Twigs, Elton John, Years and Years). 

Continuing a non-stop year, Jessie Ware today releases her latest single ‘Freak Me Now’ a collaboration with electronic pop singer Roisin Murphy that see’s the pair create a disco-infused dance pop summer anthem. The song comes straight from Jessie's critically-adored album ‘That! Feels Good!’, which debuted at number three on the UK charts. The single is out via EMI records.

The fan favourite track brings back the electrifying energy that was so beloved on Jessie’s album. Produced by Stuart Price, ‘Freak Me Now’ brings in familiar influences of ‘80s electronica and the modern sensibilities that makes Jessie’s music so memorable. This, along with her and Roisin’s outstanding vocals & tongue-n cheek lyrics really set this track up to be the soundtrack of the summer. The video directed by Sophie Muller and Theo Adams (production company: PRETTYBIRD UK) is also out today and sees an electrifying energy between the pair paying homage to early ‘90s house music videos. ‘Freak Me Now’ was produced by Chris Murdoch, head of music videos & special projects at PRETTYBIRD.

Talking about the collaboration Roisin Murphy said, “Jessie is just brilliant, a super talented songwriter and an amazing singer. When she sent me ‘Freak Me Now’ I just adored it and felt it was perfectly right for me to be on the song. We had mad fun dressing up on the day of the video, it was fashion chaos!! Like a high class jumble sale, behind the scenes. We laughed at our ridiculousness and we were very silly all day! Just love her and loved everything about working with her.“ 

Jessie will return to the UK for six shows in Manchester, Glasgow, and London’s Alexandra Palace, before she embarks on her North American headline tour across several venues including Chicago’s The Vic, Los Angeles’ Hollywood Palladium and New York City’s Terminal 5.
