Somesuch Welcomes Directing Duo Cliqua

Cliqua, the Los Angeles-based, Mexican-American directing duo of Pasqual Guttierez and Raul ‘RJ’ Sanchez, is renowned for their enriching film textures laid over beautiful cinematic visuals and refined storytelling.

Although they both come from the same South Los Angeles neighbourhood, they each followed a different path in production, which wilfully led to their synchronic connection.

While Pasquel made his jump start in branded content, where he developed a strong sense of narrative and storytelling, Raul was formerly directing music videos with local LA artists cultivating his creative eye for cinematography.

Together, the duo began their careers directing music videos primarily for Latinx artists, and soon enough their artistic sensibilities attracted artists across the genre spectrum. The past few years, Cliqua has well-established their footing in the music video world directing videos for The Weeknd, ROSALIA, and Bad Bunny, while also producing notable commercial projects for Nike, Puma, adidas, and Hyundai.

Cliqua is based in Los Angeles, and currently working on their debut feature, Street Legal, a film about street racing culture in Los Angeles.
