You might remember the Slinky dog from the 1950s, an iconic retro toy that sprung into the hearts of kids – and adults – worldwide. Now, folks have a chance to see their own dogs ‘slinkyfied’ with a brand new social media campaign from children’s consumer goods leader Just Play. Slinky, the original walking spring toy, kicked off its latest campaign, SlinkyFy Your Dog, today with an announcement across its social channels asking for images of its followers’ pets. Slinky will retouch and repost the images of everyone’s pooches all week, giving followers the chance to see their dogs reimagined as their own versions of the classic toy.
This campaign marks the second from Just Play’s partnership with Red Tettemer O’Connell + Partners (RTO+P) and comes on the heels of Slinky’s social media debut across TikTok and Instagram under the handle @original_slinky for National Slinky Day this August. It launches today across social media using a mix of earned and paid media. The results will appear daily across stories, with organic carousel posts in feed mid-way through the week to show highlights, and runs through Thanksgiving next Thursday (11.25).
