Scimitar Sound has collaborated with Sky on a new spot, showcasing Ireland's Women’s National Team, who are taking Ireland to the World Cup for the very first time this summer in Australia and New Zealand.
All sound editing and mixing was done at Scimitar Sound by Alex Derby.
Alex worked alongside the people at Core and Motherland to bring this project to life, beginning with embellishing all facets of the atmosphere and ambiences throughout, as the ad takes us from living room, to local pitch, to stadium as we follow the journey of a young fan proudly supporting the team.
Alex brought a diverse palette of sounds to the mix to really bring it to life, as we see players in motion, whether battling on the pitch or working hard in training, and even scoring a 40-yard screamer in-game. We hear the intensity of those sprinting footsteps, and the thunderous strike of Denise O’Sullivan’s hat-trick goal from outside the box, and the roar of the crowd as we see team captain Katie McCabe emerging from the tunnel for the first time.
The team at Scimitar Sound say: "We had the honour of welcoming George Hamilton, legendary Irish football commentator into the studio for this one, as George put his touch of magic into the sound bed for us by providing some electrifying commentary. We also linked up remotely with the wonderfully talented Voice Actor Sarah Aubrey in Australia, who also worked her magic on some exhilarating Australian Commentary for us.
"We’re very proud to be part of creating this beautiful ad, and of course even prouder of our girls in green! #COYGIG."
