Amanda Blue is an international award winning documentary and commercials filmmaker. Her directing style of stunning visuals and natural first-person story telling ensure this essential message is portrayed with respect and sensitivity.
To emphasise the injustice, Amanda cuts artfully between the authentic and familiar settings of the eponymous victim and that of a Flash Harry character jet-skiing somewhere far from home. As Bob tells his devastating experience of being conned out of his life savings, it becomes clear that the fun being had is at his expense. The natural reaction to this robbery is horror, anger and then sadness for this man that could be you, or your dad.
Amanda cast a great actor for Bob rather than a real target of pension scammers. This enabled her to create a scene that represents many people’s stories rather than an isolated incident and so focus on the intensely cynical nature of this exploitative and destructive fraud.
Beautiful cinematography, emotive story telling and impactful performances; running themes through Amanda’s exquisite directing reel, create a believable and personal film which considers the real life consequences of this cruel and selfish crime.
Justin Tindall, Executive Creative Director, M&C Saatchi, said: “Retirement is something that we spend our entire career saving for. The thought of 40 years’ worth of investment being stolen from you by a scammer is a sickening one. This campaign aims to make that feeling all the more unpalatable by dramatising the scammer heartlessly enjoying the proceeds of his victim’s hard earned pension.”
The 60” film for the new M&C Saatchi campaign ‘Don’t let a scammer enjoy your retirement’ launches on TV on Tuesday the 14th of August and then also online and cinema.
