For the second year in a row, Skittles is opting to not screen a commercial during the Super Bowl, but still make the most of the attention the event garners.
'Skittles Commercial: The Broadway Musical' will have just one showing on February 3rd (Super Bowl Sunday) and will reportedly feature a celebrity that is yet to be named. It will start at 1pm and last 30 minutes, so those lucky enough to bag a ticket can make it home in time for the game. The Mars Wrigley Confectionery brand is selling 1,500 tickets and will donate all sales to charity.
Skittles did run three consecutive Big Game ads from 2015 to 2017, but last year launched 'Exclusive The Rainbow', a commercial featuring David Schwimmer that was shown to only one person. The social buzz around the campaign earned Skittles and its agency DDB Chicago billions of media impressions and
one of only four Immortal Awards handed out in 2018.
Much like 'Exclusive The Rainbow', we're likely to see lots of buzz-building content in the run up to 'Skittles Commercial: The Broadway Musical', so stay tuned for more on this story and head over to
