Seven Sunday Films presents Love Is A Trap, a short film produced for Toyota and in partnership with renowned film director Hanung Bramantyo.

Filmed on location in Jakarta and Tokyo and featuring real-life Indonesian celebrity husband and wife duo, Rio Dewanto and Atiqah Hasiholan, the film takes us from Indonesia to Japan and follows Rio’s character as he desperately tries to unravel the mystery of his wife’s sudden disappearance.

The closer he gets to his wife the further he seems to be from solving the puzzle, until a series of cryptic clues lead him to an unexpected rendezvous.

Upon receiving the script and with the help of producer Anirudh Mitra, Seven Sunday Films approached highly acclaimed film director Hanung Bramantyo – the director of two of the three highest grossing Indonesian films, namely Habibie & Ainun, (produced by Anirudh Mitra) and Ayat-Ayat Cinta.

Love Is A Trap was shot in under a week, including two days spent in Jakarta followed by two days in Tokyo. The shoot in Japan was guerrilla style, with eight crews organised by Seven Sunday Films flying over from Indonesia.

Toyota Sienta client services director, Eka Nindhi Satria, said it was passion that made the impossible possible on this film. “When I first got the client brief for this mini movie, the only thing that crossed my mind was – can we do this?” Satria admitted.

“A very tight deadline and mandatory shooting locations in Tokyo, with the only available shoot dates held during Golden Week holiday, not to mention transport availability, were just some of the obstacles. I can say that it was almost impossible.”

Satria was also glad to work with the Seven Sunday Films team and for an opportunity to work with Hanung Bramantyo.

“Working with Seven Sunday Films is not only making this impossible project become possible but it was also fun and enjoyable. They are amazing people with very strong passion that translated into creating an amazing movie.”
