Athene Parker will be interviewing Selma Nicholls on June 27th, finding out about the woman behind the mission of ‘Redefining the art of Representation with Looks Like Me Casting.’
Selma, an Award winning casting director with an extensive history of the arts, dance and theatre, is a proud board member of Punchdrunk Entertainment, and has been committed to addressing the imbalance of representation since founding Looks Like Me Casting after her daughter aged three questioned the fact that no one ‘looks like me’. Selma began this movement in 2015, well before diversity and inclusion was an expected norm.
A woman who has been no stranger to challenges faced, through her journey as a single mother and business founder, and a pioneer in this field. Selma has the sweetest nature and brings energy and optimism to everything she does. Selma is continuing her work to promote diversity in the arts and media by heading up the team working on #RepresentMe with WACL.
