Sean + Steve Win Top Canadian Documentary Prize at Vancouver Film Critics Circle

Director duo, Sean+Steve (Sean Horlor and Steve J. Adams) have won Best Canadian Documentary at the Vancouver Film Critics Circle (VFCC) Awards. This top prize follows their win at Fantasia Festival where they took home the Director’s Guild of Canada (DGC) Audience Award for Best Canadian Feature; and a critically acclaimed world premiere at South by Southwest (SXSW). 

SATAN WANTS YOU is a feature documentary about the shocking story of how a young woman and her psychiatrist helped ignite the global Satanic Panic with their bestselling memoir Michelle Remembers. 

The film was heralded by Variety as the “Scariest documentary of the year.” SATAN WANTS YOU is streaming on CBC Gem and Tubi. Watch the trailer here. 

In addition to their documentary success, Sean+Steve signed with production company Boldly early in 2024. They launched into the commercial market with a buzzy docu-style holiday campaign with Rethink for Westjet. These diverse projects highlight the dynamic capabilities of the duo who are skilled at circumventing genres to craft compelling work.
