For the first time since mid-2021, the Screendragon appraisal of the creative operations industry is back. COVID-19 was still top of mind when the last survey revealed that 65% of creative teams no longer attended the office. Although there were several pandemic related challenges still evident, more than 60% reported that their creative team was increasing in size. That may explain why project management and resource management software tools were the most popular types of software tools implemented that year.
A lot has changed in the industry since then. Terms such as Web 3, ChatGPT, and AI generative imagery have entered the creative lexicon. On the other hand, the mini boom in advertising has been replaced with talk of cutbacks and layoffs. Taking all of this into account, how do creatives feel about the industry today? Have ways of working changed much since 2021? What tools are creatives still dependent on to get work done?
The State of Creative Operations survey will reveal what makes creative teams tick in 2023. Screendragon has confirmed that everyone that participates in the survey will secure early access to the final report. This is in addition to invites to results presentations and notifications about blogs, infographics, and webinars.
One of the 2021 survey respondents proclaimed: “Hybrid work environments are here to stay, but roles requiring collaboration will have to return to work to ensure we continue to challenge the status quo of content ingenuity.” It’s time to find out if her prediction was right!
