Dietz & Watson and independent creative agency Red Tettemer O’Connell + Partners (RTO+P) have launched a new campaign.
Gone are the days of mindlessly searching the refrigerator and pantry for a convenient snack, especially on gameday. What game, you ask? And what snack? Cue Dietz and Watson. The purveyor of premium meats and artisan cheeses (and, new for 2022, Dietz Chips— the pickles you eat like chips!) is back again, and this time, they’re here to play. Literally.
The Atlantic City Pickleball Open (ACPO) announced that Dietz & Watson will become the title sponsor of the inaugural indoor pickleball tournament to be held September 19 through 24 at the Atlantic City Convention Center.
This event will feature the top professional and amateur players in the growing sport. It’s the largest indoor sanctioned pro, amateur, junior, and para-athlete Pickleball Tournament in the Mid-Atlantic area for 2022 and will air on CBS Sports as a one hour packaged program.
In partnership with Independent creative agency, Red Tettemer O’Connell + Partners (RTO+P), the snacking spots will air on broadcast TV, and will stream on YouTube, OOH and social media during the event. Dietz & Watson will supplement the media package in the sponsorship with its own buy on paid social.
Dietz will also be the exclusive meats and cheeses concessionaire at the ACPO.
To fully leverage the ACPO pickleball sponsorship opportunity and extend their presence on site beyond food, Dietz & Watson has developed a line of on and off-court pickleball apparel, suitable for pickleball players and fans alike. The co-branded apparel will be available on Dietz & Watson’s e-com store beginning one week prior to the event.
Lauren Eni Canseco, EVP of brand strategy at Dietz & Watson, says: "We are passionate about all things pickles and are excited to share our love for them, along with our broader line of protein-packed snacks, with the players and guests at the tournament and beyond."
Steve Red, president and co-CCO at RTOP, comments: “Dietz & Watson is always looking for ways to bring the brand to the next level, and we’re here for it”, said Steve Red, of Red Tettemer O’Connell + Partners (RTO+P). “With Atlantic City right in Dietz & Watson’s “backyard”, the brand continues to support its community while also engaging with customers in fun ways to elevate the brand.”
