London based Riff Raff Films are pleased to announce that it has signed Sam Walker of Faster Horses, a new creative collective set up by Sam Walker and Joe de Souza. Walker has been building his directing reel for the last few years, directing notable films for Lastminute.com, Virgin Active and most recently the collective’s debut offering for Uniqlo, ‘This Way to Utopia’, produced through Riff Raff.
As well as working as a director through Riff Raff, Walker will continue to work as a creative director with De Souza, offering both services separately or together depending on the project.
Walker and De Souza were until recently Group ECDs at Karmarama where they created Marketing’s Campaign of the Year, BBC ‘God Only Knows’. Previously while at Mother, Fallon and Wieden + Kennedy the pair won numerous awards including yellow pencils for Orange ‘Dance’, ‘Goldspots’, and a black pencil for Britart.
Matthew Fone says, “I’ve known Sam since his days at Mother and what I have always liked about him is his fundamental drive to keep the creative at the heart of any project, no Plan B as he says. With Faster Horses I feel Joe & Sam have kept the simplicity of this creative and are now applying it to the changing landscape of our industry. Good people create good work.”
Walker and De Souza say, “With the landscape changing across the industry, and boundaries coming down, it’s exciting to be able to offer not just creative direction, but also direction, and Riff Raff are the perfect company for us to partner with. We’ve known and worked with Matthew (Fone) for a long time and without doubt he’s one of the best producers in London.”
The relationship is effective immediately,
