Richard 'Rick' Brim and Martin Beverley, CCO and CSO at adam&eveDDB respectively, have announced that they are leaving the agency in February to start their own business.
Richard has been chief creative officer at adam&eveDDB for more than 11 years, and has been at the forefront of the agency becoming one of the most highly respected and awarded on the planet. Martin has led the strategy department for nine years.
"As we write this, we are still questioning why we would leave such a wonderful place packed with such talented people," said Richard. "Whilst we are very proud of what we have achieved here, it’s now time for something different."
Three of adam&eve's original founders - James Murphy, David Golding and Jon Forsyth - went on to found their own agencies. James and David set up New Commercial Arts in 2020 while Jon launched Neverland in 2019. Matthew Goff, former CEO at adam&eveDDB, founded Ark earlier this year.
Current CEO of adam&eveDDB, Miranda Hipwell, said, “While we’re obviously extremely sad to be losing Rick and Martin, we’re so proud of everything we’ve achieved together and very excited to see them head off to become entrepreneurs. Start-ups are a crucial contributor to the lifeblood of our industry – as the tremendous success of adam&eveDDB and its previous incarnations has proven over the years – and it’s wonderful to see the agency spawning a new generation of entrepreneurs.
“Meanwhile we’re looking forward to the next chapter of adam&eveDDB as we expand and build on the success we’ve had in 2024.”
adam&eveDDB operates globally within Omnicom. In 2023, adam&eveNYC and DDB New York merged under the adam&eve umbrella, and it also has an office in Germany. Replacements for Richard and Martin have yet to be announced.
