Journalists that get captured and killed, imprisoned bloggers and censorship…
The overall level of violation on the freedom of information continues to be very high and the situation is still worrying in 2013 as proved by the annual round-up published on Wednesday by Reporters Without Borders.
Reporters Without Borders and its agency BETC denounce this alarming observation with their new campaign: Great People.
The ironic film reminds us of what information on some of the world’s political leaders could look like if we didn’t have independent journalists.
“We chose the end of year celebrations to make the general public aware of the importance of defending the freedom to inform and to be informed. In many places in the world, like Syria, Mali and Russia the dangers which the news providers expose themselves to are intensifying”, Christophe Deloire, General Secretary of Reporters Without Borders, declares.
Made in collaboration with Rita Films and Green United Music, the campaign will be broadcasted on the major French TV channels and online from December 21st.
