Radio LBB: Homegrown South African Energy

Here at Pressure Cooker, our team has been working to source authentic music for South Africa's leg of the Red Bull Dance Your Style Competition - something to really capture our 'Homegrown Energy'. From Pantsula to Sbujwa to Bhenga to Amapiano, our local styles have taken the scene by storm, and our aim with this project was to shed light on this diversity in a way that encapsulates that South African energy. That isn't to say that the outside world has had no impact. Our unique spins on Hip-Hop, Popping, Locking, and Voguing just go to show how open we are to all styles of the art form and how diverse our culture really is. With the help of Red Bull's online music library, we were able to complement captured artists and dance breakdowns with music that is true to the culture behind each move.

This playlist is a reflection of that, fuelled with local bangers, youthful energy, and some key global influence. The music in this playlist has really inspired our team at the studio while we worked on this project.
