I bloody love a good song. A good song has the power to transport you to another place or even take you back to a specific moment in your life. It can trigger a whole range of emotions deep within and can instantly change your mood. What makes a good song is not just one catchy riff or some chords that sound nice together, but rather the whole package. A story told through a combination of good melodies, well structured chord sequences and lyrics that make you think. Tones and rhythms all working together in perfect harmony to deliver a message.
Most of us know a good song when we hear one and let’s face it, there are so many out there. But there are some which have multiplied. Multiplied in the sense they have been recycled and reimagined because they’re just so damn good. A good song has the ability to adapt and flex and even take on a new life of its own when covered by a different artist. This playlist contains some of my favourite covers (a 20 track limit is simply not enough...). Sometimes different artist interpretation can unlock untapped potential or even change the narrative of the song’s story. There are songs out there that have even been made famous by other artists covering the original versions. I’ve included a few of these in the playlist also.
I hope you enjoy!
