Radio LBB: A Transatlantic Collaboration Of Hip Hop Favourites

Hello everyone! It’s been a while since we did a Radio LBB playlist and it’s so great to be back. This time I’m sharing duties with my colleague Marc Buehler who works out of our Hamburg, Germany studio.

Since this is his first Radio LBB playlist I let him pick the theme. It took him less than a second to choose hip hop from the last 30 or so years. He said that while growing up in the western part of Berlin before the wall came down there was an American Army base nearby and he would listen to their radio station AFN where the some of the GIs would play hip hop from the US. This sparked a love that took him to DJing these tracks at 16 years old and has continued to this day where he still throws down when he can.

As we do on jobs that happen between our studios we collaborated by grabbing a handful of songs that are meaningful for us and put them together. The first 10 are Marc’s choices and the second 10 are mine.

It speaks to the power and universal nature of music that someone from Berlin and someone from Detroit can find common ground in a love for a specific genre like this. Maybe some of your favourites are here or maybe you’ll find some new ones. Have a listen and enjoy!
