Sloan Hunt Communications, New York, and London-based Pumpkin have formed a pan regional partnership dedicated to serving clients in the business-to-business and consumer sectors.
Pumpkin and Sloan Hunt will offer BtoB and BtoC public and media relations as well as content creation, event staging, media training and digital and social media expertise to clients in need of expanded reach in the US and UK.
Sarah Owen formed pumpkin in 1998. With 17 years experience in advertising, direct marketing and public relations, working with clients such as Volkswagen, Prudential, Orange and The Financial Times, Owen has experienced life on both the client and agency side. A graduate of Harvard Business School and the University of Manchester, prior to starting Pumpkin, Owen served as account director and head of communications at several Omnicom agencies including Proximity/AMV BBDO.
Sloan Hunt principal and founder Pat Sloan brings 14 years of public relations experience to the partnership. Prior to forming Sloan Hunt Communications in January 2012 she was with DDB Worldwide and its parent company Omnicom Group Inc. where she served as worldwide senior vice president/ corporate director of public affairs, working with both companies across North America, Asia Pacific, Latin America, Middle East, Africa and Europe.
Earlier, she worked as national senior editor and New York bureau chief of Advertising Age. Sloan, a graduate of Ithaca College and the University of Missouri, also has written for news organizations including the Boston Globe, the New York Post, New York Newsday, Penthouse and New Woman and has appeared on news shows ranging from Good Morning America to ABC World News Tonight, NBC Nightly News, the Today Show, Entertainment Tonight, CNN, CNBC and FOX.
The Pumpkin and Sloan Hunt affiliation builds upon Sloan's and Owen's earlier partnership when Sloan was at DDB Worldwide/Omnicom and Pumpkin consulted for DDB London.
Owen commented: “This partnership is borne out of one thing: client need. We have worked successfully in the London marketplace for many years and our reputation speaks for itself. We have been increasingly asked to provide our skills and expertise in the U.S. To find a partner who could match our skill set and provide a seamless operation and link to the U.S. was difficult, but in Sloan Hunt, I know we have found the right one.”
