‘Gaurav’s Journey’ shows the impact of HDFC’s cancer programme
Publicis India has been working with Indian bank HDFC to promote its unique investment fund that also helps cancer sufferers to access treatment.
The film tells the tale of a young Leukaemia sufferer called Gaurav and features interviews with his parents, who describe the difficult journey they family faced as well as the financial pressures they faced attempting to fund his treatment – until HDFC stepped in. Gaurav is now completely cured – which was possible only through the monetary support by the fund. The film features the real family, their home and the hospital where the boy was treated (Tata Memorial Hospital)
The fund is a first-of-its-kind unique offering, that invites the investor to donate their dividend (either 50% or 100%) towards the cause of Cancer Cure, with HDFC AMC Ltd matching the dividend amount. The fund has, since its inception in 2011, reached out to over 6,800 patients, across 16 hospitals around the country.
