Publicis Groupe APAC Wins Big at the APAC EFFIES

Leo Burnett Philippines' McDonalds classroom campaign

Publicis Groupe APAC has walked away with 4 Golds, 4 Silvers and 2 Bronze EFFIE awards at last night’s APAC EFFIEs gala.

With Leo Burnett Worldwide scoring second place and Saatchi & Saatchi third place in the overall Agency Network of the Year category, Publicis Groupe APAC’s medal tally includes:

  • Leo Burnett Australia: One House to Save Many for Suncorp Group – 3 Golds
  • Leo Burnett Philippines: McDonald’s Classroom for McDonald’s – 1 Gold, 2 Silvers
  • Saatchi & Saatchi Singapore: Annoying the Itch out of Aussies for P&G – 1 Silver, 1Bronze
  • Publicis Groupe Vietnam: Keep Stories Alive for Mondelez Kinh Do – 1 Silver
  • Leo Burnett India: Keep Girls in School for Whisper (P&G) – 1 Bronze

Emma Montgomery, CEO of Leo Burnett Australia, says: “One House to Save Many was almost three years in the making, and a true creative collaboration between our agency, our clients and the partners we brought together to design the solution. Our EFFIE wins prove that big impactful creativity delivers transformative results.”

Regarding McDonald’s Classroom’s Gold and Silvers, Kat Gomez-Limchoc says: “Personally, I am just proud of how our creativity gave birth to a real solution that was so intrinsic to the McDonald’s brand that helped teachers all over the Philippines at a super difficult time for many. McDonald’s showed real commitment to this idea when they agreed to scale it nationwide, and we are thrilled with our Gold and Silver EFFIE wins.”

For Publicis Groupe Vietnam, this represents its first-ever EFFIE (a Silver) for ‘Keep Stories Alive’, created for Mondelez Kinh Do mooncakes – the only winner from Vietnam this year. Mondelēz International also won Marketer of the Year. This campaign was created by Publicis (creative), Spark (media), Digitas (data), MSL (influencer and PR) and Prodigious (content).

“Winning an EFFIE is a testament to how our creativity truly solves business problems. Mondelez is one of our biggest, most creatively ambitious clients, and this campaign delivered real and measurable business results. We are thrilled to celebrate this awesome achievement,” says Kate Bayona-Garcia, CEO, Publicis Groupe Vietnam.

Leo Burnett India also won Bronze for its powerful ‘Keep Girls in School’ campaign. Dheeraj Sinha, CEO Leo Burnett, South Asia & Chairman BBH India, explains: “23 million girls fall off the education system because they lack period education. Whisper has the purpose of Keeping Girls in school. This is a purpose that impacts the society and brand both. We have been building this platform over a period of time, so this win makes us immensely proud.”

The APAC EFFIE winners were announced at an Awards Gala in Singapore on 8 September.
