Production company VAGRANTS has moved into a fresh new studio space in Somerville, Massachusetts, supporting its expansion into editorial capabilities. The announcement marks a period of significant growth for the company, following on the heels of its recent rebrand and website launch.
Bolstering its current client offering and services, the new studio is big enough to welcome in collaborators to work together in real-time on production projects. It also boasts a brand new edit suite, which can host in-person edit sessions with clients, as well as the ability to hold smaller shoots within the studio.
Based in Union Square, it’s perfectly located in proximity to Boston, sitting just minutes from the new green line extension to the city. This makes it accessible to young talent entering the industry from the many surrounding colleges, with the town’s ever-changing and evolving nature inspiring new ideas and ways of thinking.
Originally, VAGRANTS began in Allston, Massachusetts. Starting off in Red Sky Studios and then eventually moving into a bigger office – Vagrants kept growing and it became clear they needed even more space. The search for VAGRANTS’ new home began, and led Dustin and Winston to Somerville where the pair had initially met and lived for several years. The pair felt connected to the community and to the idea of becoming ingrained into the growing arts movement there, as well as marking the beginning of a new production scene in Somerville.
Dustin Devlin, co-founder and director, VAGRANTS said, "We have so much more space now and the possibilities of what we could do with it are truly endless. We just hosted an office warming party that was an absolute banger complete with an open bar, DJ and hot dog machine (yes, a hot dog machine). There are certainly more of those to come. We’re also looking forward to hosting screenings, art shows and other mixers to welcome the larger arts community into our space.”
